| Ingredients: |
1 15 oz. can chick peas ½ 15 oz. can black beans ½ onion 1 clove garlic 1 medium portabello mushroom cap ¼ cup roasted red pepper ½ cup old fashioned oats

½ tsp chili powder ½ tsp paprika 1 tsp basil ¼ tsp salt ~ ¼ cup water olive oil

| Cooking Instructions: |
Mash chick peas and black beans in a bowl. Chop onion, garlic, portabello, and roasted red pepper. Add to bean mash along with oats and mix. Add spices. Continue mixing and add water slowly until mixture is just moist enough to stick together well (similar to the consistency of stuffing before cooking). Heat just enough olive oil in pan for frying. Form patties and fry well—about 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until thoroughly heated and browned. |

| Garnish with sprouts or parsley, or compliment with any green salad if desired. |
